Tamara and I relocated our family from Atlanta in July of 2017 for her to take a job as a high school science teacher at American School Foundation in Mexico City. Since that time we’ve survived a catastrophic earthquake, nearly getting divorced, and countless other challenges, and not once have I felt even the smallest shred of regret for leaving my native country. So I feel pretty confident about the advice I’m sharing in this blog post.
Not once have I felt even the smallest shred of regret for leaving my native country.
This blog post is divided into a few sections: Target Audience, Benefits, and Downsides. In the first part I lay out who I have in mind when I recommend relocation, and afterwards I discuss why including pros and cons.
By the way, I wrote this a few months ago before coronavirus became the biggest world event in modern history. I think the idea of relocation is still relevant, assuming that we don’t suffer a complete breakdown of society here in Mexico. And actually, given the horrendous way that things are going in the United States, you might have hordes of people crossing the border in this direction sooner or later. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.
