The Importance of Taking Creative Risks

I’ve been dying to tell this little tune’s backstory ever since finding out that Solarstone signed it to his world-famous record label. It exemplifies how spontaneous creative risks can pay off.

The track really came together on May 1, 2019 at my home recording studio in Mexico City.

The melodic riff was one that I had been playing around for a couple of weeks. I was purposely trying to come up with an old-school progressive trance arrangement using classic analog instruments. (I was also feeling particularly emotional, for reasons that will become clear momentarily.)

The melody sounded like a love song to me, so I had been playing around with a sung vocal part that went:

You’re everything to me…

If you listen closely to the vocal adlibs and chops in the track, you may notice that’s what they say, pitched-up and heavily effected.
